According to the WHO, every year, 4,500 billion cigarette butts pollute cities, rivers and, more broadly, the ocean, taking up to 12 years to decompose and contaminating 1,000 liters of water each.

For this 4th edition, which will take place from September 20 to 30, 2025, the aim is twofold: to raise public awareness and mobilize a maximum number of participants around the world. To achieve this, everyone is invited to organize solidarity collections, with the aim of surpassing the record set by the last edition, which collected over 1,000,000 cigarette butts in 10 days.
