ACTION'S IMPACT
Why this initiative
According to the WHO, every year, some 4,500 billion cigarette butts - representing almost 75% of all cigarettes consumed - end up in the environment, polluting our cities, rivers and, more broadly, the ocean. Made up of over 5,000 chemicals, 150 of them highly toxic, this waste takes up to 12 years to decompose and can contaminate up to 1,000 liters of water each, harming soil, aquatic ecosystems and human health. Protecting the environment also means preserving public well-being in the face of this massive pollution.
Action objective
The goal is to raise public awareness of this environmental issue and rid Nature of cigarette butts. Our aim this year is to mobilize as many participants as possible - from all over the world - to beat the record of over 1,000,000 cigarette butts collected in 10 days.
How to reach the goal
For the 4th year running, we are fortunate to be able to count once again on the support of Noam Yaron, an athlete committed to the environment and ambassador of the action. He mobilizes a large audience around the initiative with over 550,000 followers, reaching up to 30 million people a month on all his social networks, and has built strong relationships with the media.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE
STEP 1
GET A PAIR OF GLOVES TO PROTECTYOUR HANDS
STEP 4
NO MATTER WHERE, IN THE CITY, IN THE FOREST, BY THE LAKE,... ANYWHERE ! ALONE OR WITH OTHERS
STEP 2
RECYCLE EMPTY PET BOTTLES TO COLLECT CIGARETTES BUTTS
STEP 3
COLLECT CIGARETTE BUTTS WITH FRIENDS, FAMILY, COLLEAGUES, ETC.
STEP 5
NO NEED TO COUNT:
A 0.5L BOTTLE = 250 BUTTS,
1L = 500 BUTTS, 1.5L = 750 BUTTS
STEP 6
TO VALIDATE THE COLLECTION, JUST FILL OUT THE FORM AND TAKE A PHOTO OF THE COLLECTED CIGARETTES BUTTS
WHAT TO DO WITH CIGARETTE BUTTS
ALTHOUGH THE CIGARETTE BUTTS CAN BE DISPOSED OF IN A BIN AFTER YOUR COLLECTION, WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON A SOLUTION TO GIVE THEM A SECOND LIFE. THIS WILL BE IMPLEMENTED DURING OUR 4TH EDITION IN 2025.
